MARYSVILLE — Just before noon on Monday, April 29, a 30-year-old male suspect from Snohomish County reportedly fired shots at Marysville Police officers after a vehicle pursuit that began in Marysville and ended in Everett with the suspect being taken into custody.

Officers initially attempted to stop a full-size pickup truck in the south end of Marysville that did not have vehicle license plates on it. A vehicle pursuit was initiated when the suspect fled. The pursuit entered in Everett via southbound State Route 529. During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle became disabled, stopping after hitting a parked car. The suspect fled on foot from the truck, firing a handgun at officers as he ran. Officers did not return fire. It was later learned the pickup truck had been stolen earlier in the day.

Officers from Marysville, Everett, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington State Patrol set up containment, at which time a K-9 track was initiated. The suspect was located and taken into custody without further incident.

The incident is being further investigated by the Everett Police Department and is ongoing.

“There’s not tons of more information at this time,” Everett Police Officer Aaron Snell said shortly before 12:30 p.m. “We’ve got a large area left to search for evidence, so I’m sure more information will be forthcoming.”
