TULALIP — The Tulalip Tribal Police Department is once again staging the National Night Out Against Crime for the area at the Tulalip Amphitheatre.

According to Tribal Police Office Manager Ashlynn Danielson, organizers expect 150-200 attendees and 30 vendors on site during the event, which is set for Aug. 3 from 6-8 p.m.

Among those expected to send representatives are the local American Legion, the American Red Cross, the Marysville Library, Marysville Kids Matter, the Marysville Police Department, the Tulalip Tribal Gaming Agency and the Tulalip Tribal beda?chelh child welfare program.

“We’ll have amateur ‘ham’ radio operators, families and friends of violent crime victims and a Marysville Police K-9 demonstration as well,” Danielson said. “We’ll also have a bouncy house for the kids, free chair massages with donations going to charities, food vendors and prize raffles and giveaways, with gifts donated by local companies.”

Danielson expects that Marysville and Tulalip police patrol cars will be on display, in addition to a truck and a boat from the Tribal Police, and command post vehicle.

“We’ll be showing footage of closed cases like speeding chases,” Danielson said. “Our police chief, deputy chief and several of our officers will be on hand to answer questions, too. Our overall focus is on crime prevention and helping neighbors watch out over each other.”
