MARYSVILLE – Early returns from the Feb. 9 special election have Marysville voters split on the the two ballot measures on which they were voting.
Proposition 1, a $78 million construction bond which would would authorize the Marysville School District to replace and equip two elementary schools and a middle school, as well as acquire new and renovate existing technology facilities and complete other capital improvements, has garnered a total Yes vote of 51.65 percent, and 48.35 percent No votes. The construction bond requires a 60 percent Yes vote for approval.
The second issue on the ballot, a levy, has garnered 55.74 percent Yes vote and a 44.26 percent No vote. The levy needs a simple majority of 50 percent plus 1 for approval.
