The first of the month brings with it two chances to help out those in need.
Wine tasting for Jerry Jacobs
Smokey Point Masonry, located at 7822 47th Ave. NE in Marysville, is hosting a wine tasting fundraiser, Nov. 1, from 6-9 p.m.
The $15-per-person tickets, which must be purchased in advance, are for both wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres, and will help benefit Jerry Jacobs, a stem cell transplant patient.

Marysville Rotary dinner,
auction set for Nov. 1
The Marysville Rotary is kicking off its own yearly fundraiser earlier that same afternoon, as it stages its 22nd annual dinner and auction starting at 5 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Everett Events Center.
This year’s theme is “Manhattan by Moonlight,” and as usual, this year’s auction is the main source of funding for the Marysville Rotary’s many local, regional and international projects. Over the course of the past five years, more than 100 students have received nearly $200,000 in scholarships from the Marysville Rotary, which has also given approximately $350,000 to local groups and projects in that same time.
Tickets cost $75 per person and may be purchased by contacting Evie Bates by phone at 360-653-5520 or via e-mail at evieb@northcountybank.com.
