I was raised in Snohomish County and am raising my family here. I work for a local trucking company. In the last several months, I’ve met Mr. Wilson a handful of times. We have seen him at political fundraisers, auctions, paid events. I find that concerning.

Superior Court Judge is a non-partisan position for a reason. There are rules that govern judges and judicial candidates; they are called the Washington State Judicial Canons, and they are important. One of those rules, or canons, talks very specifically about candidates not attending paid political events. It is sad that Mr. Wilson chooses not to follow the rules and guidelines of this judicial race. But can I say I am surprised? Certainly not.

I remember several months ago when Mr. Wilson’s Web site stated he was endorsed by the Snohomish County Labor Council. That is false and the Council reminded him that they did not endorse him. We all make mistakes, fine. Then he put it in primary voter’s pamphlet. And on his political signs. And on the independent Web site www.votingforjudges.org. The Council followed up and this false information was removed, but only because people called Wilson out on his lies.

What else can we expect from someone who has demonstrated over the years that he is unable to follow the rules, and the laws, of our state? Mr. Wilson, if I had even one of your DUI’s, I would not be allowed to do my job as a trucker.

My vote is going to George Appel. Appel is honest, skilled, hard-working, intelligent, and a dedicated public servant. Oh, and did I mention his integrity? He will be an excellent addition to the Superior Court Bench.
