EVERETT — A Marysville man was among two individuals injured in a four-car collision on Interstate 5 Saturday, Aug. 28.

The 21-year-old man was driving northbound at approximately 3 p.m. near milepost 193 when his Chevrolet Trailblazer collided with a second Trailblazer being driven by a 41-year-old Lake Stevens woman.

The woman’s vehicle struck a guardrail on the right shoulder of I-5. The man’s SUV then collided with a third vehicle, which struck a fourth vehicle.

Debris from the accident also caused damage to a fifth vehicle. Drivers of those three automobiles were not injured.

The Marysville and Lake Stevens residents were transported to Providence Medical Center’s Colby Campus in Everett for injuries.

Officials from the Washington State Patrol said that speeding and alcohol played a factor.
