MARYSVILLE — The “All City Food Drive” yielded a bountiful harvest for those in need during its return to Marysville on Nov. 5.

According to Tara Mizell with the city of Marysville, more than 75 volunteers helped collect 5,004 pounds of food and $2,032 in cash donations that Saturday.

Volunteers from local chapters of the Kiwanis, Lions, Soroptimists, Boy and Girl Scouts and Naval Junior ROTC, as well as Marysville city staff, Marysville School District staff and students, HomeStreet Bank employees and local church youth groups collected donations for the Marysville Community Food Bank at the Fred Meyer, Grocery Outlet, Haggen, IGA, Safeway and Albertsons stores in town.

“These donations will really help toward serving our neighbors in need in Marysville for the holidays,” said Dell Deierling, director of the Marysville Community Food Bank.

Red barrels will continue to collect food and toys throughout the holiday season. Donations may also be dropped off at the Marysville Community Food Bank, located at 4150 80th St. NE, behind St Mary’s Catholic Church in Marysville. Volunteers for the “toy store” should contact JoAnn Moffitt at moffittbusichio@yahoo.com or 425-876-1010.
