MARYSVILLE — “My job is to keep the customers happy,” said Kevin Petermore, the new circulation manager for The Marysville Globe and The Arlington Times.
Petermore is a man of few words, but in many ways, he doesn’t see his current job as being all that much different from his 20 years in the U.S. Navy, since both involve coordinating large numbers of subordinates. As a civilian, Petermore is now in charge of 25 carriers for four newspapers, whose 30 routes cover approximately 30,000 subscribers in Marysville and Arlington.
Petermore’s wife, a Washington native, was a former carrier for The Marysville Globe and The Arlington Times, which was how he heard about the open position. With 15 years as a supervisory manager under his belt, Petermore now oversees all the carriers and their distribution.
“We just work to get people their papers,” Petermore said. “We’re a local paper for local people. You’re not going to get the type of coverage in the Daily Herald that we offer in The Marysville Globe and The Arlington Times because they don’t offer the local news that we do.”
A former native of Michigan, Petermore has lived eight years in Washington and he’s come to appreciate it as he wife does.
“I enjoy this area,” Petermore said. “The trees remind me of my old home.”
Those with questions about their subscriptions or carriers, as well as about the papers’ circulation and distribution, can contact Petermore by phone at 360-659-1300, ext. 6050, or via e-mail at kpetermore@marysvilleglobe.com.
