Marvel Frances Robbins, forty-year resident of rural Arlington, passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2010.
Mrs. Robbins was preceded in death by her husband Ben in 1977, sons Dale and Ben and granddaughter Crystal Lea Mercer.
She is survived by daughters Marvel (James) Itoney of Deckerville, Michigan; Gail (Ralph) Mercer, Fowler, Colorado; Sharon (Leo, deceased) Hill of Mount Vernon, Washington; Sheila (Lee) Howell, Stanwood, Washington; and Victorine (Richard) Willard of Anchor Point, Alaska; sons Rhinard “Rocky,” of Arlington, Washington and Anthony, “Tony,” (Marsha) of Everett, Washington; 26 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She is also survived by sisters Evadena “Peggy” Warner, and Lorna Wright and brothers Jack (Dorothy) Fleming, Dwight (Sandy) and Conrad Steele and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marvel grew up in a musical family and became a performer at family and neighborhood gatherings. Even at the age of 92, on Valentine’s Day, 2008, she sang at a wedding and was so popular that she entertained at the reception as well!
