Mary Catherine Kephart went to be with the Lord on Nov. 21, 2010 after a long and hard-fought illness. Mary Catherine was born Jan. 18, 1942 in Memphis, TN. Her father, being a Chief Master Sergeant in the Air Force, was transferred many times and came to settle in Atwater, CA at Castle Air Force Base, where she met and married Vernon “Butch” Kephart. They were married for 46 years.

Mary worked at Regency Care Center as a CNA and was an employee of Boeing Aircraft before her retirement in 2003.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Stringer Slue. She is survived by her husband Butch and her father Herman F. Shue; Mary’s and Butch’s two daughters Della Jean Kephart and Jennifer Louise Lang and their spouses; and three grandchildren Justin and Brandon Lang and Ruthanne Kephart who thinks she had the best grandmother in the world. She is also survived by her two sisters Sharon Martin and Susan Martin-Muth and their spouses.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Nov. 27 at 2:00 pm at Arlington United Church, 338 N. MacLeod, where Mary was a member.
