Laurin passed away at home on Jan. 9, 2009, after battling lymphoma cancer. He was born Dec. 9, 1932 in Arlington, Wash. to Gilbert and Lila Foster. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1951 and served in Korea.

He married Brtty Espedal in 1956 and they raised two sons, Brian and Gilby. Laurin and Betty dairy farmed in the Stilliguamish Valley for 50 years.

Laurin is survived by his wife, Betty, brothers Dick (who preceded him in death in 1983), Dell (Lois) of Carnation, Wash., Tom (Martha) of Bothell, Wash. Sons Brian (Connie) and Gilby, Grandchildren Devin (Takuya), Dan (Kristen), Josie and many relatives and friends.

There will be a memorial service and celebration of life on Saturday, Jan 19 at 1 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Arlington.
