David Martin Flint, 72, of Marysville, Wash.,died Oct. 3, 2009 at Providence Everett Colby Campus.
He was born Dec. 19, 1936 in Whitefish, Mont. to Harry and Emeline (Erickson) Flint. He was a member of the Marysville Moose Lodge for 34 years, was a Past Governor, and earned a Fellowship Degree of Honor in 1985. He was a member of the Moose Legion for 30 years. Dave also was a member of the Granite Falls Eagles for 30 years. In 1955 he graduated from North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo.
His railroad career began in 1953 working for Great Northern Railroad in Seattle, retiring in 1999 with 46 years of faithful service.
In 1957 he met and married his one true love, Ruth Bradley, and after a whirlwind courtship, began a love affair that lasted 45 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Krueger Rasmussen and husband, George Rasmussen, of Marysville; Precious grandchildren, David and Emily Krueger, and Andy Rasmussen; Brothers, Ed Flint(Jeannie) of Granite Falls, Chuck Flint (Ginni), of Soap Lake, Sisters, Virginia Whiteley of Arlington, and Harriet (Jack) Travis of Edmonds. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews who will never forget their Uncle Dave, and lifelong family friend, Jim Browning,
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother in law Bob Whiteley, and the love of his life, Ruth, in 2002.
A memorial service will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 2:30 p.m. with a reception following the service. Many heartfelt thanks to the medical staff at Providence 5th floor renal unit for their compassionate care of dad and his family during his last days.
Rememberances may be given to the Bethlehem Lutheran Memorial Fund, Mooseheart, or to a charity of your choice.
