ARLINGTON — Handel’s “Messiah” rehearsals begin on Monday, Nov. 1 for the Arlington/Marysville Community Choir. This group forms every two years for November rehearsals in preparation for the semi-annual performance of this Christmas masterpiece. All singers/musicians in the greater Arlington/Marysville/Stanwood area are invited to participate.

The choir rehearses in the Arlington High School choir room (B113) each Monday night in November and then combines with a community orchestra for

the presentation on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 12, at the Brynes Performing Art Center.

Besides the presentation of the Christmas choruses from the Messiah, the program includes various community and school groups including the AHS acappella choir, Jazzmine and other selected musical ensembles. The most well known choral work of all time, the “Hallelujah Chorus” will be the closing number.

For 33 years, this tradition has been a rewarding and thrilling musical opportunity for members of the community, both as participants and listeners. Sheet music is provided with rehearsals at 7-8:30 p.m. (Monday evenings in November).
