ARLINGTON – The Arlington Cannabis Coalition is lighting up downtown.

Top Shelf owner TJ Werth donated $435 help to purchase solar lights for 15 cherry trees, creating a year-round ambiance. Smokey Point Productions, Washington Bud Co., Nasty Jacks Candy and Pioneer Nuggets each donated $200 to the city’s Social Services Flex Fund to help fight opioid addiction as their part of the tree lighting sponsorship.

Volunteers from the companies decorated Olympic Avenue trees Oct. 10.

The flex fund is a city account that gives fire and police personnel access to funds to provide immediate basic needs to individuals who are addicted to opiates, as they seek treatment. The fund is designed to fill the gap of basic needs and transportation when a person makes the decision to seek immediate help and is waiting to be placed in rehabilitation facility.
