ARLINGTON – Housing prices are going up, so fewer people who are on the bubble of affordability are able to pull off buying a home.
If you don’t have the funds and can’t get something new, you have another option, said Tom Lassen, community manager of the new Park 77 apartment complex in Arlington.
By July of next year, that apartment complex will be complete with 182 units.
Until then, locals and newcomers to town are moving in as each of the buildings is finished.
Those who are moving in tell Lassen that they like the amenities of a pool, exercise room, community room, cabana, covered parking, playground, barbecue and community garden.
In the apartments themselves, they like the 9-foot ceilings, spacious floor plans, upgraded countertops and flooring.
They also like the location as it’s right off Highway 9 near medical offices, grocery stores, gas stations, shopping, restaurants and fast food.
Schools nearby include Arlington High, Haller Middle and Kent-Prairie Elementary.
Leases are for one year, and there is no application fee.
About 39 units, located at 20201 77th Ave. NE, are finished, with 25 being occupied.
Another building will be ready this weekend, Lassen said.
Residents started moving in last month.
Costs range from $1,225 a month for a one bedroom to $2,000 for a three bedroom with two baths.
Williams Investments, which in the 1970s built a complex on 4th Street, is the developer.
It has 50 developments in Snohomish County, and about 2,400 in all.
