EVERETT — A Marysville Boeing employee was struck and killed by a car near the Everett Boeing plant on the morning of Monday, Jan. 23.

Marysville resident Robert G. Vincler’s death at the age of 55 has been ruled an accident by officials, as Everett Police Sgt. Robert Goetz has admitted that Vincler’s reasons for walking in the roadway remain unknown. Goetz added that road conditions do not appear to have been a factor in the accident.

According to Goetz, Vincler was hit by an SUV driven by a Mukilteo woman in the eastbound lane of Highway 526, just east of Seaway Boulevard. The crash was reported at about 5 a.m. and Goetz noted that the driver stopped her car immediately and cooperated with investigators, whose processing of the scene caused traffic to be diverted through side streets for more than two hours.
