Walter Thomas “Tom” Almli, 72, of Arlington, Washington, passed away December 11, 2017 after losing his battle with cancer.
Tom was a well-loved man who touched the lives of countless people with his kind heart, generous nature and sharp wit.
He was born to Walter and Evelyn Almli on December 5, 1945, the third of four children. Tom spent his childhood in Arlington, graduating from Arlington High School, serving in the Army, and earning a BA from the University of Washington.
After years working in the lumber industry, Tom decided it was time for a change and became a Farmers Insurance agent, setting up office in Everett, Washington. His honesty and humor quickly turned clients, and colleagues, into lifelong friends.
So much can be said of Tom’s life, but the most important is that he cherished spending time with his family and friends. His absence can be felt deeply by all that knew him.
Tom is survived by his brother Bill, sisters Sandra and Sherry (Bob), children Darren, Thomas (Branda) and Vanessa (Dana); along with eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Peace Lutheran Church, 1717 Ole Larson Road, Silvana, WA.
