The Arlington High School boysbasketball is still in search of a reliable offense after losing to Lake Stevens and Monroe in league action. The Eagles dropped to 3-11 in Wesco North action and 3-15 overall.
AHS lost to Lake Stevens 54-42 Tuesday, Jan. 30 on the road and then returned home Friday, Feb. 2 where they fell to the Bearcats 56-39.

As a 3A team in a mostly 4A filled Wesco North league the Arlington Eagles boys basketball team is guaranteed to see postseason play.
Its a good thing as the 2006-07 season has produced a 3-10 league record and 3-14 overall tally after a 52-42 road loss to the Lake Stevens Vikings Tuesday, Jan. 30.
I just wish we could put the ball in the hole better, a dejected coach Nick Brown said afterward.
The Vikings jumped out to a 9-0 start before senior center Abe Bourasaw got the visitors on the board with 6:15 remaining in the first quarter.
Classmate and guard Taylor Martin added his first basket of the night to make it a 11-4 ballgame, but the Eagles were unable to get into an offensive rhythm.
Bourasaw added two free throws and senior guard and forward Andrew Disotell sank one of two from the charity stripe for the teams seven first-quarter points.
Lake Stevens led 18-7 heading into the second quarter and the Eagles offense had seemingly been knocked off track and not to be found until the final buzzer had sounded.
Sophomore Lucas Larson started the second quarter with two of his five points in the contest to pull Arlington to within 10 at 19-9.
Disotell ended a three-point play after being fouled at the tail end of a hoop and the lead was back to nine at 21-12.
Sophomore Cole Carpenter got into the scorebook with a running layup at the three-minute mark to make it a 25-14 deficit.
Carpenter kept up the offensive pressure by driving straight to the hoop, but a Viking foul negated his basket. The persistent teen made the Vikings pay when he sank both of his free throws for his fourth consecutive point at 25-16.
After a quick Lake Stevens hoop, Bourasaw hit an off-balance layup shortly before halftime to cut the deficit back to nine at 27-18.
The Vikings added one more hoop to take a 29-18 advantage into the locker room.
Disotell dropped in a basket 30 seconds into the third quarter to cut the score to 29-20, but after a handful of missed opportunities from the Eagles the Vikings began to pull away.
Shortly after Martin tallied a two-pointer to make the score 34-22 Brown called a timeout with 2:50 remaining in the quarter.
The Eagles were doing a good job of holding the Vikings off the scoreboard with their stingy and effective defense, but their offense seemed to be on a hit or miss basis.
Carpenter seemed to spark the team after following up his own miss with a rebound and hoop, but Lake Stevens had already taken a 13-point advantage at 37-24 and it appeared to be too little, too late for the Eagles.
Bourasaw and Carpenter combined for the last four points of the quarter and headed into the final eight minutes of play down 40-28.
We just didnt come out and execute tonight for whatever reason, Carpenter said afterward.
We didnt play well as a team and just had a bad game overall. It seemed like we were really down after the loss to Oak Harbor (61-52, Jan. 27). Tonight we were down early and were just never able to get it back.
The Eagles finished the game on a high note by tying the Vikings 14-all in the final frame.
The two teams waited out a fire alarm at the beginning of the fourth before Lake went on a 5-0 run.
Disotell drained a trey and Bourasaw added a hoop before Carpenter fouled out of the contest with 3:19 remaining.
Larson, junior Caleb Scarth and Bourasaw combined to score the final seven points in the losing effort.
Its been a long season, but these guys are not giving up at all. I would take these guys any day, Brown said while pondering the game and his first season.
Carpenter said he has enjoyed his first year on the varsity squad and has seen a distinct difference between the quality and level of play between junior varsity and the more experienced team.
I think one of the biggest differences is that you have got to be ready every game. I believe that if we came ready to play tonight we wouldve done a whole lot better.
