Snohomish County Auditor Carolyn Weikel is encouraging all voters to avoid the crowds of Election Day and ensure their ballots count by returning their voted ballots soon. Ballots can be returned anytime through the mail or by using one of 11 ballot drop boxes. Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Ballots returned through a ballot drop box must be deposited in the box by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

“We anticipate Snohomish County’s voter turnout to be high this election,” Weikel said. “You do not need to wait until Election Day to return your ballot. If you choose to wait until Election Day, you should expect lines at our accessible voting sites or our ballot drop boxes. Avoid any inconvenience to yourself and others by voting and returning your ballot today.”

Voters may return their voted ballot postage free to any one of 11 ballot drop box locations, open 24 hours a day, in Snohomish County. Ballots can be deposited at these locations any time until 8 p.m. on Election Day. Voters are encouraged to return their ballots as soon as practical to avoid potentially long wait times at drop boxes on Election Day.

The 24-hour ballot drop box locations include Arlington near the library at 135 N. Washington Ave., Everett at the Courthouse Campus on the corner of Rockefeller Avenue and Wall Street, as well as at McCollum Park at 600 128th St. SE, and Marysville behind the Municipal Court at 1015 State Ave.

More than 406,000 ballots were mailed on Oct. 18 to registered voters in Snohomish County. If you are registered and have not received a ballot, contact Snohomish County Elections at 425-388-3444.
