EVERETT The New Everett Theatre presents Rocky Horror the Musical by Richard OBrien at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 6 and 7, and 13 and 14 and at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 8. A special midnight performance is set for Saturday, Oct. 14.
The bizaare ageless classic features two clean-cut kids, Brad Majors and his fiancee Janet Weiss, who are on the way to visit an old college professor, when they run into trouble and look for help at a light down the road. The light is coming from the old Frankenstein place, where Dr. Frank N. Furter is in the midst of one of his maniacal experiment. The audience follows Brad and Janet on a trip they will never forget.
Rocky Horror is an ageless classic bursting at the seams with such memorable melodies as Sweet Transvestite, Damnit Janet, and of course, the pelvic thrusting Time Warp. said the theaters artistic director, Victoria Walker.
The Rocky Horror Show cant stop partying. This is the boldest bash of them all, so fish out your fishnets, and sharpen your stilettos for the rockiest ride of your life.
Director Chryste Call has previously directed Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, Squatters, and Spike Heels. She just completed stage managing Heretic Links for the Experimental Theatre Project in Seattle. She holds a BFA degree in Theatre Arts/Performance from Missouri State University, and is president and co-founder of Snohomish-based production company Troupe du Jour. She has been a fan of The Rocky Horror Show and its film counterpart for almost 18 years and is thrilled to finally be directing it herself.
Musical Director Leigh Olson has directed music in the Northwest area for almost ten years. Favorite shows include Forbidden Planet, Little Shop of Horrors and Godspell.
Audience participation is encouraged. The show is not recommended for children under 12.
Tickets are $24 adults, $16 senior, students and military at 425-258-6766. The box office is open Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. and for 45 minutes before each show.
