MARYSVILLE — A public meeting will be held Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. in the Marysville City Council Chambers, located at 1049 State Ave., to discuss the city of Marysville’s fiscal year 2009 Brownfields Cleanup Grant proposal, for a contaminated property located at 60 State Ave. in Marysville. The city is proposing to clean up the property under a competitive grant from the Environmental Protection Agency’s Brownfields Cleanup Grants program.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the city’s draft cleanup grant proposal, and to provide a forum for discussion and public comment on the proposal. During the meeting, project team members and city staff will be available to respond to questions and concerns about the project.

A copy of the draft proposal may be obtained from the city of Marysville’s Web site, at http://marysvillewa.gov/communitydev/planning/index.html, by Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. Public comments will be incorporated into the final proposal to be submitted to the EPA on or before Nov. 14.

The public will be asked to provide input on the project, including assisting in identifying desirable redevelopment scenarios. These scenarios will need to be customized to fit the neighborhood as it continues its revitalization process.

Neighborhood residents, local business owners and other parties interested in the sustainable redevelopment of underutilized and contaminated properties are encouraged to attend.
