MARYSVILLE — The city of Marysville is pleased to announce Computer Support Technician Sandra Gyurkovics as City Employee of the Month for April 2008.
Honored at a City Council meeting, Gyurkovics went above and beyond to simplify the City’s Identification Badge system for the Human Resources Department. In addition to overseeing purchase and installation of the new equipment and software, she did an outstanding job anticipating Human Resources’ needs and streamlining the entire photo ID process, making it quicker and significantly more user-friendly, said Human Resources Specialist Tawni Biddle, who nominated Gyurkovics.
Gyurkovics is responsible for troubleshooting problems with desktop computer systems, software applications and peripheral devices; planning equipment replacement and upgrades; and basic administrative server function and other information system infrastructure ranging from telephones and wireless communications devices to copiers and scanners.
In addition, Gyurkovics provides exceptional customer service, city officials said.
“Since hiring with the City in May 2007, Sandra’s smiling, easygoing personality, attention to tasks, and willingness to help the less computer-literate has been a great asset for Information Services and for our city government operations in general,” Mayor Dennis Kendall said.
This is not the first time Gyurkovics has received kudos from a city employee for her customer service. Information Services Manager Worth Norton said that since she has been with the city, Gyurkovics has helped take IS customer satisfaction up a notch or two. She has excellent follow-through and always makes sure that her clients are fully satisfied.
