TULALIP — The Marysville School District’s annual information fair and kindergarten registration will take place this year from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, at its new location at the Arts and Technology High School, at 7204 27th Ave. NE.

MSD Superintendent Dr. Larry Nyland will be on hand, along with district and school staff members and representatives of community partnership groups, to answer questions and provide information on various programs and resources that are designed to be both supportive and useful.

Families may also take this opportunity to register their children for kindergarten for the 2012‐13 school year, and to meet staff members from their children’s schools. Translators will be available to assist parents in completing the registration information, and registration forms are now available on the school district’s website. Parents may also download and complete the registration materials ahead of time and bring them to the event. These forms will also be available at the event.

In addition to kindergarten registration, the district is hosting “Get Acquainted” features. A district school bus will be on site for kids to explore, along with a chance to meet the transportation mascot, Rudy the Raccoon. Parents of fourth- and fifth-grade students will be given their annual opportunity to review the Growth and Development and HIV (fifth-grade only) curriculum. Videos will be shown on the hour, beginning at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., followed by a question-and-answer time. Parents may also take advantage of an informational session on how to use the district’s Family Access system.

A tour of the award‐winning Marysville Getchell High School campus is a new feature of the information fair. Families may choose to “Get Acquainted” with the Marysville Getchell campus on student‐led tours, which will run for approximately an hour. A bus will depart from the Arts and Technology High School at 10 a.m., or families may choose to drive to the campus. Tours begin at 10:15 a.m.
