Praise and raze (editorial)

Praise to Housing Hope for planning to build a 50-unit transitional housing center in Lakewood. Helping the homeless is a dire need in our communities.

Praise to Marysville for opening its traditional house.

Praise also to Marysville for shutting down yet another drug house. We are hopeful schools and social services can pick it up at the other end, to stop addicts before they even start.

Praise to all organizations who put on Easter Egg hunts this year. They are great family events.

Raze to those who organized the flashlight hunt in Arlington. When so many people showed up, changes needed to take place.

Raze to the woman who faked having children to steal from schools.

Praise to Arlington council members for riding along with police to see first-hand the drug and homeless problem. Leaders need to really see the problem before they can know how to help.

Praise to Jay Inslee for helping Arlington prepare for its national competition. We’d love to see the governor here more often. We’d love his help in other areas, too.

Praise to Trade-UP for giving students hands-on job experience. Those are just the type of events that can spur interest in academics.

Praise also to Goodwill for its aerospace program.

Praise to the thespians in the Lakewood High School play, “You Can’t Take It With You.”

Praise to Arlington schools for tackling the drug-awareness issue.

Raze that two major projects are taking place on I-5 this weekend. We can always blame it on the weather.

Praise to those who have already voted in favor of the school bonds in Marysville, and for those who soon will.

Praise to Maryfest for picking local historian Ken Cage as grand marshal of the parade. He deserves the honor.

Raze to those spreading misinformation about the Marysville schools bonds.
