Kids collect hygiene kits for those in need

Across the world, members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints desire to touch lives and lift their fellow men. In small and simple ways, they follow the example of Jesus Christ in their inspired efforts to lift up the hands which hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees.

Primary girls, ages 8 through 11, seek to respond to the urgent need for hygiene kits worldwide by gathering donations on June 30, 8-10 a.m.. Their hope is to have enough supplies required to put together 200 kits on July 11. The kits will then be sent to the Churchs Distribution Center in Salt Lake City where they are dispersed to individuals or families affected by a disaster. Hygiene kits provide disaster victims with basic items necessary for health and cleanliness.
Your donations of unbreakable combs (no sharp handles), packaged toothbrushes, toothpaste (no pumps, please), bars of soap (approximately 4 to 5 oz.) or new hand towels (approximately 15 by 25. Please, no dish towels or washcloths) would be gratefully appreciated. The girls will also be collecting eye/reading glasses which will then be sent to Africa.
Please drop your donations off at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints building located at 17222 43rd Ave. NE, Arlington. If you wish to make a cash donation or have any questions, please contact Cherlyn Ferguson at 360-653-8940.
