MARYSVILLE — In its latest efforts to offer free, fitness-related recreational opportunities to area residents, Marysville Healthy Communities Project partners have added more free swimming dates to help all ages get healthier.
The next series of free swims starts Oct. 23 from 7-9 p.m. at the Marysville-Pilchuck High School pool, located at 5611 108th St. NE, with subsequent Friday dates scheduled for Nov. 20 and Dec. 18. Swimming is free for the first 200 who attend.
“The Marysville School District and the Marysville YMCA are key partners in the Healthy Communities Project goal to give residents more access to low-cost recreational opportunities, and a way to become healthier and more physically fit,” said Jim Ballew, city of Marysville Parks and Recreation Director.
The Marysville Healthy Communities Project is asking participants to help support the Marysville Community Food Bank by donating a nutritious canned food item to the swims. For more details about the Healthy Communities Project, visit its Web site at www.marysvillehealthycommunitiesproject.com.
