SNOHOMISH COUNTY — Representatives from Arlington and Marysville were among the big winners during the United Way of Snohomish County’s awards dinner last month.

Arlington-based AMT, a division of Senior Operations LLC, which manufactures structural parts for business and regional jet markets, received the President’s Award for 2010 from United Way on March 10.

The award is given to county’s biggest campaign contributor to United Way. AMT raised $123,000.

The company’s CEO, Jerry Goodwin, was honored for his leadership and employee Barbara Rosenberger, a Marysville resident, won the Employee Campaign Manager of the year award for her work on the campaign.

Three donors also received a year’s worth of gas, groceries and rent as winners of the United Way “Taking Care of Basics” sweepstakes.

Winners will receive $50 per week for gas, $100 a week for groceries and $1,000 per month for rent each month for the next year.

Among those three winners was Carol Johnson of Marysville.

Sponsored by Frontier Bank and UPS, the sweepstakes raised more than $260,000 in 2009 for United Way.

United Way officials said that despite a challenging economy, the organization hit its goals in terms of collections in 2009.

That total will be announced in June.

“The needs in the community are larger than we’ve seen in most years,” said Matt Reinhard, 2009 campaign chair. “It was no time to be bashful. Companies and their employees really stepped forward and responded.”
