The Lady Tomahawks basketball team got their 2006-07 season off to a 3-0 start before dropping their Wesco North opener to Snohomish.
M-P lost their league opener at home 52-40 to the Lady Panthers 48 hours after defeating the Lady Knights of Kamiak 48-43 on the road.
Coach Julie Martin said Snohomish came out strong at the Jim Linden Fieldhouse Friday, Dec. 8, and her squad was unexplainably nervous and timid.
Our turnovers were in the high 20s and all in all we didnt have the greatest game, Martin said.
Junior forward Jessica Masters led all scorers with 19 points.
She (Masters) had a great game, Martin said. The veteran coach also applauded the play of sophomore guard Krisel Juco.
Krisel did a really good job and made some things happen that got us within 10 points.
Despite falling short, Martin said it was fun and the girls learned a lot.Tomahawks vs. Kamiak

M-P rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to defeat non-league foe Kamiak 48-43 Wednesday, Dec. 6 on the road. The Lady Tomahawks improved to 3-0 overall while the Lady Knights fell to 1-2.
Senior guard Nancy Couls scored 15 of her game-high 17 points in the second half after becoming more aggressive with the ball.
She attacked the basket more which she needs to do, Martin said of the multi-sport star.
