MARYSVILLE — Just before 8 p.m., Monday, Marysville Fire District crews were dispatched to the 6300 block of 33rd Avenue NE near Marysville where a man had been stuck by a vehicle.
The 68-year-old man was transported to the Colby Campus in Everett with life-threatening injuries, according to Kristen Thorstenson, Public Education Specialist/Public Information Officer for the Marysville Fire District.
In Marysville, there have been several vehicle versus pedestrian incidents in the last few weeks.
Thorstenson offers the following tips to keep yourself or someone else safe:
• Be visible – wear light colored or reflective clothing
• Use sidewalks and crosswalks where available.
• Pay attention – drivers, bike riders and pedestrians all need to be aware of their surroundings.
• Minimize distractions – we are less likely to see or hear pedestrians or vehicles if we have headphones in/on our ears or are paying attention to our cell phones.
• Children (even teens) don’t have the developmental maturity to judge vehicle speed or distance well – kids under 10 years old should always have an adult supervising them while crossing.
