MARYSVILLE The Marysville Historical Society has several new items that can help fill any holes in your holiday shopping list.
Marysville, The Place Where It All Began is the name of a DVD chronicling the citys early history created by Marysville resident and videographer Jeff Stephen Maki.
The hour-long presentation features archival photography culled from the collections of the historical society, the University of Washington Special Collections, the Museum of History and Industry along with the Everett Library.
Maki credited historical society president Ken Cage with supporting the video project.
When it comes to preserving history, Ive never seen a more organized and enthusiastic group of historians than in Marysville, Maki said.
The DVD is on sale for $20. Proceeds benefit the historical society, as do sales of the book and calendar.
The 100-plus-page tome Voices of the Past is the result of several years of work, according to Cage. Cage described the book as containing the stories and diary writings of early Marysville settlers. The price is also $20.
Dedicated to the pioneer families of Marysville, this years historical society calendar also is on sale. Each month features an archival photo of a different family who helped settle the Marysville area. The calendar is available e for $10.
All three items can be had at the historical society offices, 1624 Grove St., Suite B. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mon.-Fri. Purchases also can be made at the temporary home of the societys museum, 1608 Third St. Museum hours are noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
