Guru Nanak Sikh Temple conducts candlelight vigil for school shooting victims Dec. 22

MARYSVILLE — The Guru Nanak Sikh Temple in Marysville is inviting the surrounding community to join them for a candlelight vigil on Saturday, Dec. 22, in memory of the victims of the school shooting in Connecticut nearly one week prior, on Dec. 14.

MARYSVILLE — The Guru Nanak Sikh Temple in Marysville is inviting the surrounding community to join them for a candlelight vigil on Saturday, Dec. 22, in memory of the victims of the school shooting in Connecticut nearly one week prior, on Dec. 14.

Satwant Pandher, president of the Guru Nanak Sikh Temple in Marysville, explained that the candlelight vigil will run from 3-4:30 p.m. that Saturday afternoon, and is speaking with representatives of the city of Marysville and the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office in hopes that dignitaries such as Marysville Mayor Jon Nehring and Snohomish County Sheriff John Lovick might be available to speak at this event.

The Guru Nanak Sikh Temple in Marysville had previously conducted a candlelight vigil for the victims of the Aug. 5 shooting at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin.

The Guru Nanak Sikh Temple is located at 4919 61st St. NE in Marysville.
