MARYSVILLE — The Tommies qualified all three relay teams for the state tournament to go along with a handful of individuals.
Finishing second place in the District 1 tournament at home with 486 points Feb. 12, the Tommies will be well represented at the state meet.
Senior Spencer Girard led the way for the Tomahawks, placing runner-up in both the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:59.07 and the 100 breaststroke with a time of 59.77.
Girard was also a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:24.81) and the 200 medley relay team (1:41.21) which also earned a trip to state.
M-P’s other multiple state qualifier was Connor Hemming, who will dive at state, finishing third with 246 points, and finished third in the 100 breaststroke with at time of 1:01.22.
Hemming was also a member of the 200 freestyle relay team that will head to Federal Way Feb. 18, finishing in 1:32.88.
Also, Andrew Winquist finished third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.6, earning a state spot.
Members of the 200 medley relay team were Robbie Haynes, Girard, Josh Estella and Colin Willis. The 200 freestyle team included Drew Preston, Hemming, Jon Ell and Winquist. Finally, the 400 freestyle team included Willis, Winquist, Preston and Girard.
The state meet will be held Feb. 18 and 19 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
