Marysville’s 26th annual HomeGrown Festival is accepting applications for vendors. An outdoor event on Third Street in historic downtown Marysville is presented Aug. 14 and 15. America at Boys and Girls Club
Former Ms. America Susan Jeske will be at the Arlington Boys and Girls Club June 12, 9:30-11:30 a.m. to discuss “Are Your Cosmetic & Personal Care Products Safe?” Jeske has a background of more than 20 years in the beauty, cosmetic and personal care products industry. Several years ago severe health issues led her to a holistic doctor who told her what she was using on her skin contained synthetic and toxic chemicals and was making her sick. He doctor suggested that she stop using her skin care products and for her to use products that are “natural and “organic.” The program will introduce a Swiss organic skin care line, offer beauty and image secrets, and there will be lots of door prizes. The presentation will be at the Arlington Boys and Girls Club, 18513 59th Ave NE. Seating is limited so hold you space by registering at 360-659-2968.
Round Robin at Marysville Library
Round Robin member Carolyn McInnis is displaying paintings in the entryway cabinet at the Marysville Library through June. She also has work in a display with fellow Round Robin members Joyce Harvey and Marilyn Lisk, who are showing woodburning and “Bear Bread” works in the rear display cabinet at the library, according to Round Robin co-chair Fumiko (Miko) Winder.
Book your audition for Arlington Idol
The entertainment coordinators for the Arlington Street Fair are seeking applicants for the second annual Arlington Idol contest set for 7 p.m. Friday, July 10. Singers, ages 15 and up are encouraged to audition. Auditions will be held on Thursdays in June — June 4, 11 and 18, from 6:45 – 7 p.m. Candidates should prepare one song, no more than three minutes long. They should bring the music with them on a CD to the audition. The grand prize will be $100 cash, with other prizes to be announced. The master of ceremonies this year will be Kathy Brainerd, winner of the 2008 Singers must book their audition in advance by calling 360-435-7193 at Movement Arts, where the auditions will be held.
