Preliminary results have been posted for a trio of north Snohomish County races in the Aug. 18 primary election.

In the race for Snohomish County Council District 1, Ellen Hiatt Watson (Prefers Democratic Party) received 7,204 votes or 40.66 percent while John Koster (Prefers Republican Party) garnered 10,413 votes for 58.78 percent. Write-In candidates received 99 votes for 0.56 percent.

In the nonpartisan race for City of Arlington Council Position 3, Brock Hecla received 476 votes for 26.80 percent, Scott Solla garnered 1,036 votes for 58.33 percent and Kari Ilonummi received 253 votes for 14.25. There were 11 Write-In votes for 0.62 percent.

In the race for Marysville School District Director District 1, Mark Hatch garnered 1,801 votes for 26.74 percent, Heather Thweatt got 2,144 votes for 31.84 and Chris Nation received 2,658 votes for 39.47 percent. Write-In votes totaled 131 for 1.95 percent.
