SMOKEY POINT — Motorists commuting on the Ebey Slough Bridge or I-5 near north Marysville should plan for road closures in the weeks ahead.

The southbound lane of State Route 529 on the Ebey Slough Bridge will close from 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, to 5 a.m. on Friday, May 18, for conduit work.

All lanes of State Route 529 on the Ebey Slough Bridge will close from 8 p.m. on Friday, May 18, to 5 a.m. on Monday, May 21, for a traffic shift, weather depending.

Signed detours will be provided.

The right lane of northbound I-5 near 156th Street will close from 7 p.m. on Monday, May 21, to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, for girder installation prep work on the Lakewood Triangle Access/156th Street Overcrossing project.

From 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, through Wednesday, May 23, the two left lanes of northbound I-5 and the two left lanes of southbound I-5 at 156th Street will also close for girder installation. The second northbound lane will close at 10:30 p.m. on May 22 and open at 6 a.m. on May 23, while the second southbound lane will close at 10 p.m. on May 22 and open at 4 a.m. on May 23. All northbound lanes will reopen by 1 p.m. on May 23, and all southbound lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. on May 23.

That same Wednesday, drivers should also prepare for a rolling slowdown of all lanes of southbound I-5 at 156th Street from midnight to 4 a.m., as crews set girders.

From 7 p.m. that Wednesday to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, the two right lanes of northbound I-5 at 156th Street will close for further girder installation. The second lane will close at 10:30 p.m. on May 23 and open at 6 a.m. on May 24.

That same Thursday, drivers should prepare for a rolling slowdown of all lanes of northbound I-5 at 156th Street from midnight to 4 a.m., as crews continue to set girders.

From 7 p.m. that Thursday to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 25, the two right lanes of northbound I-5 at 156th Street will close for bridge deck work. The second lane will close at 10:30 p.m. on May 24 and open at 6 a.m. on May 25.
