SNOHOMISH COUNTY — Arlington and Marysville will be represented at the upcoming Snohomish County Dairy Women’s banquet.

Leah Peek, a junior at Arlington High School, and Emily Neff, a graduate of Marysville-Pilchuck High School and Hillcrest Academy, are both candidates for the 55th annual event, which takes place at 6 p.m., April 17, at Viking Hall in Silvana.

Peek is currently in the Skagit Valley College Running Start program, and is a three-year member of the Arlington high School FFA.

Peek is a milker at a local farm and has in the past been named the Novice Grand Champion at both the Silvana Fair and Evergreen State Fair for showing a dairy heifer.

Her project this year will be raising and showing a dairy heifer again.

Peek said she hopes to earn an associate’s degree and transfer to Western Washington University where she wants to become a large animal veterinarian.

Neff plans to attend Everett Community College and grew up on the family dairy farm helping with daily chores and feeding calfs.

She belonged to a 4-H club for four years and held several offices.

Neff has also given numerous dairy demonstrations and has participated in a dairy quiz bowl.

In her free time, she likes to play sports and is involved with her church. She works for Wolfkill Feed & Fertilizer and is being trained to become a consultant/field representative.

Other candidates in the banquet are Marissa Levi from Stanwood and Corina Ross-Cantu, Sharron Rodeffer and Emily Zylstra from Snohomish.
