MARYSVILLE — Fans of western clothing and gear won’t want to miss the “Western Days” sale at the Marysville Goodwill store, located at 9315 State Ave.

The Goodwill’s doors will open one hour early, at 8 a.m., on Aug. 12 and 13, to accommodate the large number of eager shoppers that Goodwill staff are anticipating.

“The sale has grown increasingly popular every year since it began 10 years ago, and folks from all around the region, and even from other states, come to browse the tremendous selection,” said Betsy McFeely, public relations director for the Seattle Goodwill.

Throughout the year, Goodwill collects a number of western-themed items that are donated by members of the surrounding community. Its selection includes cowboy hats and boots, belts and buckles, other western-themed clothing, jewelry and furniture, and a number of other items that will be on sale, including several horse saddles.

The net proceeds from the “Western Days” sale supports Goodwill’s free job training and education programs, that help low-income and under-served people in the community find work and support their families.

“This sale is really a big draw because people know they can outfit themselves in great western gear at prices they can afford,” said Duane Bredin, manager of the Marysville Goodwill store. “What’s more, people are supporting Goodwill’s beneficial programs by shopping at the sale.”
