There is a belief on all high school campuses that the football team can set the tone for the year. If that is true, in Marysville our Tomahawks certainly set the bar. They came out strong and made our community proud. Now it’s time for the good citizens of Marysville to make our students proud. A positive vote on Feb. 9 for both the bond and levy will help continue the momentum our student athletes have provided.
Being a member of this community since the 1940s, I have participated with my support in many bond and levy election campaigns. This election is no different. Our support is critical to the continued support of our Marysville students. Without the levy, many of the programs will be forced to be let go. Passage of the bond would provide new, first rate facilities for our younger students. Our school leadership has proved to be good stewards of our last commitment. Marysville citizens can be proud of the new Grove Elementary and soon to be completed Marysville Getchell High School, which were both completed “on time and under budget.” These are good people doing good things with our local dollars.
I urge you to continue your support for the Marysville Schools. A vote for our schools is a vote for our future.
