I have endorsed George Appel for the Snohomish County Superior Court.

I am a retired Snohomish County Superior Court Judge, having served from 1969 until January of l998. During my final five years on the bench George Appel appeared before on numerous occasions in his capacity of Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. I was impressed by his alertness, competence and the professional manner in which he handled himself in court. He was well prepared, organized, and respectful to witnesses and court personnel. I thought him to be well regarded by other counsel, now evidenced by the Snohomish County Bar Association giving him their No.1 rating.

Toward the end of my judicial career I called him aside and suggested that he consider seeking judicial office, as I believed then, as now, that he would be an excellent Judge. He has a sound legal education, has had a wealth of trial experience, and is bright and even-tempered. I cannot imagine him being unfair, rude or arrogant. I am convinced he would take the job seriously, listen carefully to both sides, and would make rulings and decisions consistent with the rules of evidence, the laws, and the facts before him.

What more could you want in a Judge?
