The Arlington Downtown Revitalization project has been a visionary example of what can be done when local government has enlightened leadership. The planning, the knowledge of what needs to be done daily and the open communications are absolutely incredible. The spirit of cooperation among the city, local businesses and the Strider Construction people shows how good a project of this magnitude can go.
Much of the success of the project can rest at the feet of Terry Marsh. Terry was hired by the city to work part time. However, you can still find him early in the mornings and late in the evenings working on his own time to see that things are moving along the way they should on Olympic Avenue. No vacation mentality here. To Arlingtons unsung hero we say, Thanks Terry. You have turned what earlier easily could have been a nightmare into a crowning example of the ultimate public works program. Incidentally it was Terry, on his home computer, that drew up the final design and plans for the towns new gazebo. He took a vague concept and turned it into a buildable reality.
