I am very concerned about the increase of car break-ins and thefts in Marysville. I have lived here since about 1988 and over the past five years our cars and my teenagers cars have been broken into about 6-8 times, not including someone inside my daughters car trying to start it at 7:30 in the morning.
After my husband chased the car thief down the road in his underwear with a bat in hand, it took police 15-20 minutes to respond. By that time the thief was gone.
Everett has a bait car to catch car thieves; I believe it costs $2,000 dollars. Wouldnt it be worth it to catch these people? Also, why arent the police responding to these calls faster? I contacted the last police chief and the new one with no reply. I think if you have had your car broken into in Marysville, or stolen, we need to reply to the Marysville Globe and let the police know how we feel about it.
Maybe when they realize what a big problem this is, they will do something, instead of pulling people over that drive Honda cars just to make sure their not stolen, they could respond to the calls in the middle of the night when we actually see the convicts walking around the cars at 3:30 in the morning and not just drive up the road and leave without contact.
