On Wednesday, April 11, over 150 people gathered for a southern-style supper and vesper concert at Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
The offering received at the supper and the worship gathering were all dedicated for on-going hurricane relief efforts in Biloxi, Miss. Sixteen members of Bethlehem congregation left on April 20 to help with roofing, sheet rock, electrical and other house restoration projects. Several members will also provide extra medical expertise for the Bethel Lutheran Katrina Clinic that operates out of several Sunday School rooms.
In raising over $3,100 to date, we need to also thank the following Marysville businesses: Safeway (State Street); Albertsons (4th and State); Allen Creek Thriftway for grocery and bakery donations. Also very generous with prepared food and beverage items were The Golden Corral, KFC (State Street); Happy Days Cafe George Johnson and local jumbalaya expert, Karl Embacher. Thank you to all of you for once again sharing your heart and your resources with neighbors near and very far.
