Last year my husband passed away after a long battle with congestive heart failure and kidney disease. In the last two years of his life he was on dialysis due to his declining health.
I think it is admirable that WSDOT is concerned that someone might fall while painting graffiti on the old railroad bridge crossing I-5, south of 116th, but these people chose to put their lives in jeopardy. The residents and workers of Lakewood Commons at Smokey Point havent been afforded the luxury of choice. We are still at the mercy of sometimes blocking traffic when an aid car, fire truck or police are needed. As the holidays approach it will get worse.
For 17 years Rob Beidler has stood up to protect and defend the people of Snohomish County. Now its time for us to stand with Rob Beidler during his candidacy for Snohomish County Sheriff.
Two and a half years ago, Teresa Bates, owner of Marysville Performing Arts Centre, took a chance mid-season and asked me to join her teaching staff. I have a 45-year career as a teacher, choreographer and director. When I moved to the area five years ago, an initial unprofessional experience almost caused me to retire. Thanks to the guidance and encouragement from Mrs. Bates, along with supportive parents, I am teaching again and loving my work.

On Oct. 20, Soroptimist of Marysville, a womens service organization, held our annual auction, a main fundraiser for our projects of service. Thanks to our members and so many good community friends who were in attendance, the auction was highly successful.
Editors Note: Letters to the Editor are prioritized and generally selected to run in The Times or The Globe based on the letter writers address where space is limited. The following letter was therefore omitted from the pages of The Globe and ran only in The Times. Mr. Blowers, who is the Republican 10th District Leader, asked that we include it in The Globe, even though it runs after the election.
We had a dog-gone great time. This year, Cascade Valley Hospital Foundations 5K Poker & Paws Walk event was, again, a huge success. After all was said and done and the last of dog hair was swept away, we tallied up our dollars and raised more than $16,000, our best year yet. None of this could have been accomplished were it not for the generosity of our sponsors.
For every one of the two trillion dollars spent during the three-plus years of the Iraqi war, a hundred questions have been asked and a thousand answers given.
Im writing to publicly thank Jim & Vicki Mattson, owners of Lets Dish! for their generous help this Christmas. My sister lives in Marysville with her husband and young daughter while the rest of our family all live in Kansas. The week before Christmas she injured her back and was in tremendous pain. It was frustrating to not be able to help her out in any way since we all live so far from her. Christmas was rapidly approaching and we wanted to do something to help them out. We decided to order some meals for them and see if we could locate someone to deliver them to their home. I came across Lets Dish! on the Internet and contacted them. Vicki was so kind and helpful and even offered more menu options. What prompted me to write this letter though, was her generous offer to deliver the meals to my sister even though that is not a service that they offer. Our family here in Kansas was so grateful for this extra act of Christmas generosity. Thank you Vicki and Jim Mattson.
As a long-time resident of Marysville and Public Information Officer for the Marysville Fire District, I am writing this letter of appreciation of generosity to our community. It was heart warming to experience the donation of toys, food, and money for our families in need and/or experiencing difficult times this holiday season. Even those with little, gave what they could to better the fortune of a neighbor.
I just sent this letter to the city of Marysville. I think the public has a right to know what they are up to.
The Marysville Community Food Bank has just been blessed with incredible community support in gathering donations from the Postal Workers Food Drive. We thank our citizens again for giving over 35,000 pounds of food.
