I am sending this letter to encourage people to vote Yes for the new library.
The Nov. 20th Herald article talks about the Marysville Grove Elementary School. This is a campus for 550 students on 10 acres.
I wish to thank all the people of the greater Marysville area for making our annual Christmas tree recycling a success. Your generous contributions to Boy Scout Troops 80, 81, 82, 84 and 419 help them to continue to provide a quality program for the boys.
I just received my 2008 Real Estate Tax statement. I was shocked by the fact that Snohomish County had raised my property taxes by over 13 percent. I immediately called several friends, who stated the same thing.
Examining one editorialists rant: he doth protest too much, me thinks.
In his letter of Nov. 8, Bob Henry asks two rhetorical questions. The implication of his letter and these questions is the U.S. should cut and run in Iraq, withdrawing from the field of battle and abandoning the Iraqi people. It is obvious that neither he nor others who have broached the same idea have any understanding of the cultural war being waged against Western Civilization nor knowledge of what will occur if the new political group in Washington, D.C., does surrender and retreat.
The Democratic campaign for this Novembers election was based solely on hatred for President Bush. Instead of directing their efforts to defeat our enemy, they want to destroy this present Commander in Chief.
Mr. John Burbank states in his editorial in the Everett Herald, Wednesday, Nov. 15, that Initiative 933 was a choice between greed and public good. I resent that implication. I stand to lose several acres of land I purchased some 50 years ago that has a beautiful creek running through the middle of it.
Thank you for participating in Kiddies Parade
The proposed Motocross Track complex along the Mountain Loop Highway has begun to stir debate, which is important toward the community making the best decision. The proposal can also generate arguments not based in reason and cloud the facts. Here are a few facts.
In response to Pro Motocross Track, I am all for family fun, I even think motocross is a fine sport. I grew up on motorcycles. However, I live one mile from the proposed Paul Thomas Motocross Complex outside Granite Fall on the Mountain Loop Highway and I do not live here so I can listen to seven days a week, nine hours (minimum) a day of motocross.
I would like to thank the two men who rescued my husband and son after my husband went overboard on his boat near the Shipwreck in the Sound on Aug. 24, at approximately 7 a.m.
I am an active member of a local Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. The national body of our church once worked up the fortitude to discuss gay ordination. Of the 100 members present at the national synod, 60 voted for it, 40 against.
