Tom Greene is endorsed by police chiefs and sheriffs because he has worked his way to earn all of the skill sets to run a large police agency. Nearly every agency leader has the same set of academic and professional credentials plus experience base. Tom is the only candidate who has earned these and the only candidate that the public does not have to train for four years to be sheriff.
I walked up the Stilly Trail to get to the Post Office. I walked up from the Fountain Drive, in through the alley to get to Frontier Bank, in order to get to the fabric shop and other stores. I alley-ed it again and managed, with my walker through the gravel, to get to the American Legion No. 76, using the Stilly Trail and Fire Lane until I had to switch to the alleys again on McLeod Street. I only missed five days making my trips. Shopping in Arlington wasnt all that bad, the hard hats offered me help and also told me they were amazed seeing me everyday getting where I needed to go.
I just wanted to express my thanks to all of the hard working employees of Parks and Recreation as well as the many volunteers who made the All-Comers Track meet such a success. It is not easy to coordinate such an event and I just wanted you to know how much we appreciate the opportunity to participate in and watch such a wholesome activity
It is with a heavy heart and an aching back that I have retired form the SVC Truck Driver Training Program as of July 14. I started there in 1986 and I’m asking myself, where have the years gone. I cannot thank those individuals and trucking firms enough that have given their support, their time and their equipment donations to the program.
In a July 18,2008, statement, a Ben-Gurion University historian named Benny Morris predicted that Israel will attack Iran to take out its nuclear sites “in the next four to seven months.” His view is generally accepted by most Israelis. Remember that the generation ruling Israel now are the children and grandchildren of people who faced the holocaust — and they won’t let that happen again.
Last Thursday, I went to Everett Public library for a book singing by J.A. Jance. I parked in the lot on the corner of Everett Avenue and Rucker, designated for library patrons. Approximately 45 minutes later, I returned to my vehicle and discovered the catalytic converter had been cut off my truck, a 1993 Toyota. I expect a part of my sense of safety was the beautiful day, the open, designated parking lot and the age of my “old girl.”
Arlington Heights Improvement Club, celebrating our 60th Anniversary, would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who came out to support our Annual Beef Bar-B-Q and Auction.
Reading the Arlington Update that the City Council put out for the public to read I’m so glad to receive one in the mail. I live in Old Arlington that used to be called Haller City, which is now Arlington.
A very big thank you for one of your young residents. My husband and I spent the weekend in your city. We stayed at the Comfort Inn near the casino and had a fun evening with another couple from Canada playing blackjack.
I am writing to show my support for George Appel for Snohomish County Judge. I had the good fortune to begin my legal career as a law clerk for Judge Richard Thorpe. For two years I was lucky enough to observe firsthand Judge Thorpe’s compassion, intelligence, knowledge of the law and constant awareness of the impact of the court’s actions on the lives of real people.
Since his election in 2004, Judge Eric Z. Lucas has restored respect to position No. 8 of the Snohomish County Superior Court. The respect of colleagues is evident in the results of the most recent Snohomish County Bar Association poll. He won the poll by amassing 477 points — more points than any of the candidates in any of the contested judicial races.
Thank you for featuring the student garden for the food bank on the front page of the Marysville Globe on July 30. It is exciting to receive fresh produce from these hardworking students and their teachers.
I filled out most of my ballot and there they are — the Superior Court Judge candidates. Unlike the elections gone by — it won’t be a clueless decision. I’m ready.
