Your reaction to Ms. Fergusons column was, in a word, excessive. Devoting an entire page to try to refute and belittle her opinion doesnt make your position right. It does, however, demonstrate the power that those in the media have to determine what to cover, how to cover it and, in your case, how much detail and how overboard to go.
In our overly political world now we have more than enough outlets to get this type of dialogue. I subscribe to The Arlington Times primarily to support the local paper. I get my politics from other sources. I am not saying you cant be political, however, to devote an entire page to this demonstrates to me that your focus is on yourself and not on your readers.
I believe I got my point across in much less space than you did.
