About two and a half years ago I was a walk on at the Glen Eagle golf course in Arlington. As it turns out, Rob Beidler was a walk on. We had never met before but teamed up and played 18 as a twosome. Our conversation during the game turned to his pending campaign for Snohomish County sheriff.
We talked about his qualifications, some of his plans, his education and his career path. I was immediately impressed. But even more impressive was his integrity with his golf game. Rob played by all of the rules. Not just the 90 degree cart rule or the repair your ball mark rule but the real rules of the game.
He took no mulligans, or gimmees and even added a stroke on one hole because he grounded his club in a sand trap. This is one honest guy. Because of what I saw in him that day I did two things Ive never done. Write a letter to a newspaper for a politician and make a political contribution.
I think he will make a good sheriff.
Thanks for letting me share my experience with Rob.
