As my term as Fire District 19 Commissioner comes to an end, I would like to thank the people of the Silvana community for their support over the past 36 years. I am proud to have been able to serve the neighbors and friends of our small community.
In regards to the replacement of my position, I would like to address a few of my concerns for the growth of our district in the coming years.
Fiscal responsibility in keeping taxes low while maintaining a high level of service within the capabilities of a small rural fire district.
Completion of the second stage of building our new fire station on Happy Valley Road.
Maintaining a better communication with our surrounding fire districts for a more effective use of the manpower and equipment available.
It is with great conviction that I look forward to supporting Kurt Windterhalter as the logical replacement for my position as Commissioner of Fire District 19. Kurt has been a life-long member of our community and has served as an EMT/firefighter for District 19 for over 31 years. This service and commitment to our community, along with his college education and business financial experience, make him the best choice for commissioner. He has an integral understanding of the internal operations of our local fire department through his past experience with us on a daily basis.
