Thank you

The city of Arlington started a Bus Bench Donation Program this summer to address the great shortage of benches at bus stops in Arlington. Of the 62 bus stop locations within the city, only 10 have benches and County Transit is only scheduled to install two new bench sites this year. At this rate, Arlington citizens would be standing or sitting on the ground at bus stops for a very long time.

We are very happy to report that in short period of time since the city set up the donation program, a number of individuals, groups and businesses have stepped forward and purchased 17 benches.
We wish to thank the following for these new benches which will be installed this fall Favorite Pastime; Scott and Vickie Solla; Downtown Edward Jones Office; Downtown Frontier Bank; Arlington Kiwanis Club; Kyle, Kristy, Jordin and Wyatt Stephenson; Arlington Garden Club; Rotary Club of Arlington; Jet Landscaping and Fences; Dr. John and Kelly Dykstra; Cascade Surveying and Engineering; and Currie Construction.
These donors have gone a long way to help meet a very obvious need in our community. Wouldnt it be great if in the not too distant future we could say with pride that all bus stops in Arlington have a place for people to sit? Anyone wishing to help reach this goal by donating a bench can contact Sarah Hegge at City Hall, 360-403-3448.
