I write in response to Mark Griswolds letter dated Oct. 24, 2007. Were you at the kick off breakfast that Ken Hutcherson spoke at Mr. Griswold? I was there and there was no mention of the gay issue. What Ken spoke on was adoption, which is an issue very close to the hearts of both Tom Greene and Ken Hutcherson.
You see, Tom is adopted. He has three adopted grandchildren. Kens church is very involved in adoption issues. Tom and Ken agree that private adoptions in America today amount to human trafficking, not that different from the days of slavery and they want to see it end. They want to see an end to the discrimination that allows for the selling of white children for as much as $35,000 and black children for as little as $4,000. Tom Greene believes in Justice for All.
The breakfast was about adoption and the election, not the gay issue. It seems odd to me that your letter was posted one week after the ballots were sent out, one and half weeks before the election and left Tom with no ability to respond to false accusations that have never been an issue in this campaign. This campaign has been clean until you decided to sling mud at the last minute.
Tom is simply the most qualified man for the job with 35 years experience in Sheriffs Departments; 10 years on the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department and 25 here in Snohomish County. He has worked his way up from patrol deputy to Bureau Chief and has done everything in between. He has crafted, presented and maintained nine budgets, hired and disciplined employees, negotiated union contracts on both sides and is well known and respected in his field. He is a man of integrity and honesty and truly cares about all people, not just those who agree with him. That is why I am voting for Tom Greene.
